oUR History
History is defined as the branch of knowledge dealing with past events. A continuous, systematic narrative of past events as
relating to a particular people, period, community, country, etc., usually written as a chronological account. The record of past events and times, especially in connection with the human race. A past that is notable for its important and interesting events. It is time to reflect on our events of the past of historical value and importance. We must maintain our past, but learn from it to assist with present and future. As Christians, we must acknowledge our past to appreciate our future.
176 years ago, our ancestors heard the call, stood on the promises of God and acted in love by faith on a sure foundation.
From generation to generation, Arnett African Methodist Episcopal Church honors and respects this promise. Jesus the rock, the precious cornerstone, a tried stone and a sure foundation which is laid in Zion.
WHO WE ARE
Arnett AME Church has been ministering in the Georgetown Community since 1901. Over 100 years ago, the people of the community stood shoulder to shoulder to build this wonderful building of worship. The Lord has blessed this place of worship throughout the years, so that it might be a blessing to those in the community and around the Nation. We hope that you will take a few moments to get to know us and let us get to know you.
We pray that, when you worship with us, you will know the presence of the Lord in your life.
If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, we pray that you will allow us to guide you on your journey.
Thank you, again, for visiting with us at Arnett today. May God bless you and direct your life in service to Him.
